The portion of games of the second day at Chance Czech Open was concluded by the battle of two Swiss teams for the last spot in the men's elite quarterfinals. Grashopper Club Zürich and Grünenmatt fought for the third place in the round of 16 group.

The latter team went into the lead, but already before the break GC were leading. The coach Trnavskı talked to the team emphatically during the break and Grünenmatt turned the score around again. But the game was really tight and this was apparent in the score as well. In the end, the GC's power play goal in the thirty-seventh minute was the decisive moment. The final score was then set to 6:4 with an empty-netter. Alexander Bodén recorded a hat-trick.

"I'm really happy. Everybody likes games like this –up and down with a happy ending. But I'm also very tired. You can feel the fatigue from the whole tournament and the journey here," said the Czech defender Jakùbek, who plays for GC.

"We had to close on the gap and turn the score around. And we can gain some positive experience from that for our next games as well as for the league. The progress of the game made us open the game more and create opportunities. The spectators must have enjoyed it," added the Czech national team player Aleš Jakùbek.

"The quarterfinal was our minimum goal, so we've done that. Tomorrow we will play against the Swedes and you have to enjoy such a game. Anything can happen," Jakùbek feels confident about his team.
