The Swedish team of Pixbo was not defeated in their fourth tournament game either. In the afternoon game of the round of 16 group they faced Vítkovice and won 3:1.
"We finally played as we wanted to and according to our tactical instructions. We had problems with that yesterday," commented on the game the Pixbo captain, Martin Östholm, who opened the score of the game in the fourth minute with an accurate shot just below the bar of the Vítkovice goal.
"We scooped up the ball after a challenge at the half of the court and I got close to the goal. The only thing that remained to be done was accurate aiming," Östholm said with satisfaction.
The players of Vítkovice tried to keep up with Pixbo until the very end of the game. They defended carefully and did not shy away from challenges. In the tenth minute, Petr Kolo scored from a penalty shot with a nice backhand feint and tied the score at 1:1.
But six minutes later, Vítkovice were very unlucky and sent the Swedes into the lead with an own goal. Moreover, in the thirtieth minute, Pixbo increased their lead to 3:1 and led the game to a successful end.
"We definitely had much harder job against Vítkovice than in our preliminary group games. We didn't play with the ball so much and had to run with them more. But we worked hard, which paid off," concluded the well-built Östholm.
