The Northern Swedish team Dalen began its way for the defence of the last year's title from Chance Czech Open successfully. In their first tournament game they defeated Sparta Prague by 5:3.

Dalen scored at the very beginning of the game and within less than ten minutes they went into a two-goal lead. Sparta then managed to level the game, but their joy lasted less than a minute only. Dalen recovered in an instant and replied with a goal by Johan Samuelsson. Another minute later, the Swedish team was again two goals ahead.

Right after the break, Dalen outnumbered their opponents in a counterattack and increased their lead to 5:2, which they did not lose. Sparta only managed to reduce the score to the final 5:3 with a nice slapshot by David Bouša from a distance.

"We're satisfied with the result; it's always good to start with a victory. But our play was not so good. We had several weak moments during the game and that's what we have to avoid next time," said the experienced Dalen defender Mattias Wallgren.

The group of Swedish supporters wearing the club jerseys were enjoying the Dalen's victory as well.

"Several players' parents came to support us. We also have a women's team in Prague, with whom some relatives came as well," smiled Wallgren, who played at the tournament last year in the jersey of Wiler, and hence could watch Dalen's success only from the stands. Nevertheless, this year his club came again with ambitions to triumph at Chance Czech Open.

"Of course we want to win the tournament. We know Chance Czech Open very well and we would regret not succeeding here. But even more important for us is to become a cohesive team and fine tune our play," dodal Wallgren.
