Welcome among the women's elite: Nemová

The third country with a representative in the A group of the elite women's category is Slovakia. But unlike last year, when the tournament featured the Slovakian national team, this time we will see the champion of the Slovakian top division, NTS FK-Z Nemová. Nevertheless, their squad includes ten national team players. The Czech fans know this team very well; they saw their triumph at the tournament in Česká Třebová in May. The core of the team includes the most productive player, the forward Veronika Izraelová, who recorded 66 points in this year's regular season and added 32 points in the play-offs, the centre forward Claudia Valjentová, and the defender and team captain Renáta Reseková. This year in Slovakia, the team virtually lacked any competition; they won the regular season and went through the play-offs quite easily, too. Therefore, it will be interesting to watch this team play in the international competition. In the preliminary group of Chance Czech Open they are going to face three Swedish teams, the Czech champion and the bronze team of the Czech Extraliga. It needs to be pointed out that it is a purely women's team. That might also be why they define the team colours as blue and bordeaux. The club comprises 7 teams with approximately 120 floorball players. Their home arena is Mestská portová hala in Nemová. Nemová has been playing in the women's top division since the season 2005/2006 and until this year their biggest success was the third place from the year 2008/2009. |
