Welcome among the women's elite: Pixbo IBK    (20. 7. 2010, florbal.cz) In our introduction of teams that are going to play in the prestigious tournament Chance Czech Open in a few weeks we are again focusing our attention on Sweden. This Nordic country is a home of another team that is going to play in the group A of the elite women's category. It appears that the giant Pixbo Wallenstam does not really need any long introduction. The teams with the red-and-black fox on their chests are no rookies in Prague. Moreover, next year, this club is going to celebrate 30 years of existence. Very interesting will be the preliminary group stage already. It will bring the repetition of the last year's Czech Open final, which was won by the Czech champions Herbadent Prague by one goal only. Overall, Pixbo in the women's category is not as successful as in the men's category either. They have been playing in the Elitserien for fifteen seasons already, but they never reached higher than the second position. That was back in 2005. At that year they were runner-ups in the Swedish cup as well. To the Prague tournament, Pixbo IBK will bring their traditional key players, such as the last year's best scorer of the Czech Open Johanna Dahlin, or the national team defender Isabell Krantz. But we can also look forward to new names – Jorunn Göransson is considered to be one of the future stars of Swedish floorball by the team coach, and the new forward, Elin Tjärnström, has already shown her qualities as well. In the past season of the Swedish top division, Pixbo finished on the 9th position only. After losing 7:8 against IKSU in the last round they finished just two points from the play-offs. That's also why the players have been working so hard during the summer preparatory period and they can show their improvement at Chance Czech Open already.
