Finish Champion SSV to compete in the Czech Open for the first time    (3. 6. 2007, Florbal.cz/ translated by Eva F Novak)
Historically the most successful club from the “the land of a thousand lakes”, SSV Helsinki, is coming to Czech Open to enjoy great play, to test European clubs before January Euro Cup and primary to strengthen a new-created team. The greatest transfer-strike of this season is Tero Tiitu. A sportsman with capital S signed a contract with SSV for one season this Monday. He was motivated by a change of setting, new challenges as well as the urgency always to go up in the world. Among other new players belongs also Toni Lötjönen from the team HIFK, Jarkko Lappalainen from Swedish Jönköpings IK, and Tom Strömsten who held a position of a captain in the team Tapanilan Erä last year. Also a national defender, Kari-Matti Ratsula who seriously injured his knee at the last year Czech Open and couldn’t play the whole season, is back in play. SSV seems to be stronger than another time, even if it lost only two matches out of 41 (including YleX Cup – an analogy of the Czech ÈFBU Cup)!
The other news in this club as well as in the whole floorball world is a testing of the A4SP technology: Floorball´08. Through connection of sensor in the floorball stick with a cell phone the player can gain an awareness of his technical skills and abilities with a stick. This equipment can also pick off the speed of a shot and quantities linked to contact of a ball and blade (number of contacts, length of contact…). And message to Czech Open fans?: “Come and see a nice fast floorball play where both the ball and players are moving and where it is scored plenty of goals!
