Tomáš Vaculík: We are sorry about it    (29. 6. 2007, (20.6.2007, florbal.cz))

Does this directive refer also to the club tournaments? What makes the organizers to follow this directive?

"Czech Open is a leading world club tournament where the teams from major contests of the most advanced floorball countries can start. Also ČFbU is a co-organizer and in regard of referees we cooperate also with other national federations. Due to it we decided to respect this directive at least within the elite man category."

Is it realistic that ever in the future the Finnish selection will come back to the Czech Open?

"Already now we can see that this IFF decision bring us many problems and we believe that as a consequence of this directive it retards the international development of floorball. In the future we will try very hard to initiate its amendment. And we firmly believe that in one year we are going to see Finnsta in Prague again
" class="textInput">The list of teams for this year's Fortuna Czech Open has already been published. However, the name of popular Finnsta is missing at this list. Also the director of the tournament, Tomáš Vaculík would like to see the selection of Finnish stars at this traditional floorball event.

At the listing of famous clubs that are going to fight for this year's Prague victory we can find three this year's champions from elite European contests, and Finnish and Swedish semifinalist. And even if another Swedish club, Dalen didn't manage to reach the semifinal of Elitserien, it managed to win at Prague in 2005.

And yet every year the fans looked forward to the performance of the Finnish selection, Finnsta IBK. And just this team will be absent this year. “Finnsta IBK always belonged to the phenomenon of our tournament and we were keenly interested in its start also this year. That's why we are extremely sorry about the absence of the Finnish selection," says Tomáš Vaculík, one of the main organizers of this tournament.

So why is not Finnsta coming this year? Was this team not interested in participation this year?

"No, not at all, the only reason of its absence this year is a changed directive of IFF about organizing of friendly international matches that I personally consider as very unfortunate decision."
