The juniors of Ostrava Pepino could rejoice at them. In North-Moravian derby in the finals they defeated Vítkovice 3:0. „It is incredibly nice feeling. We started the tournament as an outsider and didn’t even expect to advance from the qualification group. But it helped us and then we all played to a man,“ said after the match Radim Polášek who was acknowledged as the most valuable player in the U19 category. Pepino gained a lead already in the first third and increased it in the second one to 2:0. Close to end Vítkovice start moving more and more forward. They created several promising chances, but very often shot roughly. Nor final power-play helped Vítkovice. In addition Pepino sealed its triumph by a shot in the empty net 20 seconds before the end. „The basis of our success was a perfect defense. We were taking off the balls from Vítkovice and covered our space carefully. Then we only relied on fast counter-attacks,” said Radim Polášek. He couldn’t help Pepino the whole match because yet during the first period he painfully hurt his knee and so this duel was over for him. „I sprained lateral ligaments. But I think that it encouraged my teammates even more. As well as during the whole tournament we pulled together and we didn’t win that we would be the best from all, but because we hanged together,” added Polášek.
